Rachel Gallagher, LCSW, brings over a decade of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families in community, school based, and private practice settings. She began her career working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism and later served as a nonprofit Director. During this time, Rachel saw firsthand the gap in specialized mental health care that was truly neuro affirming, inclusive, and free of shame or judgment. Wanting to help fill that gap, she pursued clinical social work so she could provide compassionate, affirming therapy for individuals and families who often struggle to find providers who truly understand their experiences.
Rachel specializes in working with children, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, ADHD, autism, emotional regulation challenges, and school related stress. She takes a warm, person centered, and strengths based approach, focusing on helping clients feel safe, understood, and confident in who they are. Rachel tailors therapy to each individual using play based, cognitive behavioral, and solution focused strategies that support growth in ways that feel meaningful and practical.
Rachel earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology from SUNY Geneseo and her Master of Social Work from the University at Albany. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time in the Adirondacks and by the ocean, reading, being with family and friends, and spoiling her Goldendoodle, Nola.
Please note: Our practice is transitioning to Dragonfly Haven of the Adirondacks LCSW PLLC (formerly Well Child LCSW PLLC). The name change is currently pending NYS approval; all legal, billing, and insurance documentation remain under Well Child LCSW PLLC at this time.
